Former Vice President Joe Biden was just projected to be President-elect of the United States, defeating incumbent President Donald Trump. Come January 20th, 2021, both Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence are presumed to step down from office as Joe Biden is sworn in and will become the 46th President of the United States. Alongside Joe Biden, Kamala Harris will be sworn in as Vice President, and will be the first female and Indian American Vice President in American history.

He has named Dr. Vivek Murthy to lead the transition of the coronavirus task force, currently led by Vice President Pence.
President-elect Biden spoke on his victory on Saturday, calling for unity over division. Saying, “I am a proud Democrat, but I will govern as an American President.” In his speech, Biden spoke on unity, the will of the American people, racial tension, faith, and other important topics. He also spoke to the people who didn’t vote for him, saying that he sympathizes with the people who voted for President Trump. He ended his speech remembering his grandparents, saying, “I remember as my grandpa said when I walked out of his home when I was a kid up in Scranton, he said: “Joey, keep the faith.” And our grandmother, when she was alive, she yelled: “No, Joey, spread it.”
