If there’s one thing everyone can agree on, it’s that criminal activity is always to be punished. No matter how small and insignificant the crime is, the preparator should receive a penalty for what they did. As we all sadly have come find out that there have been students across the country, in either a lust for clicks and views on the internet or out of wanting to feel an adrenaline rush of doing a bad deed and getting away with it, have been stealing proprietary items around their schools. The trend, Devious Licks, originated from TikTok where a student stole a soap dispenser and has since garnered many views and others followed the same path. Some stole toilet paper, cups, and somehow security cameras, in the hopes of notoriety and popularity. To shorten the answer to “What is the Devious Licks Trend,” it’s like Krampus, the opposite of Santa Claus, but he’s cloned himself. But Santa has screamed out his jolly voice and brought a new trend, Angelic Yields! But what is this trend and why follow in the footsteps of the givers? Wrap up a present for your school because we’re going to give back to the schools.

It may be already known the origins of the Devious Licks trend but if not, then let me fill the halls with gifts for the school. On September 1st of 2021, a user going by the handle “jugg4elias”, which is the most basic internet name since “N00bmaster”, uploaded a video where he shows off the very first Devious Lick claim, a toilet paper Despenser. The post spread like wildfire across the internet; more students joined in on this ever-increasing trend. As the notoriety of the trend increased, so did the attention; as the attention of the internet increased, so did the attention of the schools who are victims of Devious Licks trend. Krampus was here and he came with a vengeance and a lust for attention and a spotlight in the public eye. Yet this attention, like many other major trends or events that have been popular or hot topics, will soon fade out. Especially when Santa Claus arrives with his own trend.

Introducing “Angelic Yields,” the new hot trend that was given to us on TikTok that was a parody of Devious Licks that would replace the Devious Licks trend and would garner greater attention from the populace as school items like toilet paper, pencil sharpeners, and cups were returned or given back to the schools. Santa Claus has come to town and has amassed an army of high schoolers large enough to return all school property and aid in rooting out the students of Krampus and turn them in. And, as I expect you, the reader, to take part in the Angelic Yields trend.

It may make you cringe but when you take part in the Angelic Yields trend, you are actively supporting your school, showing loyalty and great citizenship, perhaps even earning service hours as a reward for being a good/upstanding citizen to do your part in giving back what was taken from the schools and you. The necessities that allow you, teachers, faculty, and staff to do their jobs and what is supposed to be done. The participants of the Devious Licks trend, maybe with or without knowledge of the effect on the schools throughout the country, are actively sabotaging your education and future by destroying and stealing public property. So, I ask you, the reader, do you wish you to see your future become a McDonalds manager? Or do you want to have a greater career?

At the end of the day, the Devious Licks trend is a dangerous, criminal, harmful, and destructive activity that may be directed from Krampus himself in his lust for the spotlight. This spotlight will not last long as Santa Claus has come with his own activity and he couldn’t be more commended by influencing the masses to act by starting the Angelic Yields trend. This trend can only be done if the population of students are donating items and utilities to the school that would help both the school and the students themselves. But, there many reasons why you should support the Angelic Yields trend and many reasons why you shouldn’t support the Devious Licks Trend.  Let’s get into these reasons.

The first positive reason is a significant positive reputation in John Fish’s eyes. You will have earned immense respect for doing an Angelic Yield, bonus points for bringing it up to the faculty.  

The second positive reason is to seen in positive light among the teachers and staff. They’re the people who give you a good grade or let you do something in class, perhaps they may reward your behavior with some goods. 

The third positive reason is to know you’re doing your part. It is very standard but getting recognition is the biggest reward as now you’re now being seen in better light if your reputation wasn’t as good as it could’ve been prior.  

And onto the negative reasons. The first reason is a significant decrease of respect from John Fish. Because Fish is all for being a good role model and a great student, he is against the Devious Licks trend and will not tolerate any student who takes part in or views a video that promotes/shows a compilation of Devious Licks. 

The second negative reason is having a criminal record. By taking part in this trend, you are not only disrupting the lives of students but also hurting yourself as you continue in this trend by gaining a criminal record. This takes any future you have planned out away from your reach. 

The third reason is expulsion. Besides a glare in hallway from Fish and a criminal record, you will face heavy consequences. Expulsion will ruin any chances of college applications you have in mind.  

With this in mind, we can conclude that the Devious Licks trend is a criminal and harmful trend where kids steal items and should be punished for it; we also learned that the Angelic Yields trend is the polar opposite of Devious Licks and that it should be revered in the eyes of all that know of its existence.
