25 August Announcements

     Attention, NoPo Nation! To save money, join NoPo Nation and access all home athletic events. The cost is $40. Instead of spending $8 each for 5 home football games, spend the same $40 and access every team, all year. You will get one of these great t-shirts plus a custom sticker for your ID card to show at the gate. Purchase your NoPo Nation pass during lunches. See Athletic Director Mr. Miller, or Mrs. Hamer in 7-115 with questions. “National Art Honor Society is now accepting applications for new members. Any 10th through 12th grader interested in art is welcome to join. Applications are in Ms. DuBois’ room, 2-118, and are due Friday, August 26th by 2:30 pm to her.”  Kpop Club will be on Thursdays from 2:30-4pm with Miss Katt and they can get a permission slip form and information packet from Coach Mayer in Room 5-101. 

    Sustainability club is our campus’ new environmental club. If you want to learn more about how you can be a part of the club; as well as learn how to conserve and protect our local environment through sustainable practices, please see Mr. Ward in room 108 building 5.  Club meetings will begin Wed August 31st after school and will meet weekly on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:15-3:30. We hope to see you there. There will be a girls basketball meeting on Thursday 8/25 in 5-212 after school for any girls interested in playing basketball this year.

Pick up your FCA permission slip on Friday during all lunches in the TEL studio.

 

The North Port High School Swim Team racked up several wins in their season opening meet against Port Charlotte on Tuesday night. 

First Place Finishes for the Girls’ team included the following: 

  • Medley Relay Team- Tessa Erazo, Melissa Seavers, Alyssa Kemp, and Isabella Noonan 
  • Alyssa Kemp- 200 Yard Individual Medley and 100 Yard Butterfly 
  • Isabella Noonan- 100 Yard Freestyle 

First Place Finishes for the Boys’ Team included the following: 

  • Medley Relay Team- Josh Kemp, Michael Kent, Isaac Malec, Joseph Scott 
  • Michael Kent- 200 Yard Individual Medley and 100 Yard Breaststroke 
  • Josh Kemp- 500 Yard Freestyle and 100 Yard Backstroke 
  • Earl Richards- 100 Yard Freestyle 
  • Joseph Scott- 50 Yard Freestyle 

 

The Boys Golf team started out their season on Tuesday by defeating Port Charlotte High by a score of 164-185 at Heron Creek G&CC.  

 The Bobcats were led by: 

  • CJ Kemble (Even Par) (Medalist for both teams) 
  • Brayden Spain (+4)  
  • Stefan Iwasiw (+6)  
  • Matthew Jakoby (+10)  
  • Austin Harrelson (+10)
  • Preston Douglass (+13)

Their next match will be against Manatee HS  at Home on Thursday.
