October 18 Announcements

Attention Unity-Day leaders! If you are going to be one of the leaders for Unity Day here at NPHS on 11 November, you will need to attend the training on Saturday, 29 October from 930-130 at STC, located at 4748 S Beneva Rd, Sarasota. Please see Mr. Mannino if you cannot attend the rescheduled date.
To aid school security goals, any person on the NPHS campus must wear their ID card visibly at all times. If you need a replacement card, ask any teacher to help. Also, Mrs. Popity wants you to know that you can ONLY redeem HERO points at her booth on Fridays if your ID card is visible!
Spirit Week is next week, October 24 to 28. Spirit Week dress-up days are:
- Monday: Music Genre Day
- Tuesday: Adam Sandler day,
- Wednesday: Class Color Day
- Thursday: Throwback Thursday
- Friday: Bobcat Pride Day
We will have the Block Party on Wednesday Afternoon. We will also have a Pep Rally on Friday during school. The Homecoming Football Game will be held on Friday as scheduled. The Lip Sync competition and the Homecoming Dance will be postponed, but voting for Homecoming Court will go on as scheduled. Stay tuned for more news about Spirit Week!
SPORTS:
- Boys soccer tryout will be held on:
- Wednesday, October 19th
- Thursday, October 20th and
- Friday October 21st
- From 3pm – 6pm on the back practice field All athletic paperwork must be turned in prior to tryouts. Please see Coach Sorbino 4-101 with any questions.
- Girls basketball tryouts will be held October 24-26 in the gym after school. Any girl interested in trying out will need to have their athletic clearance complete before they can tryout. If you have any questions se Mrs. Skelton in Athletics
- Fall Sports athletes, pictures from your team photoshoot and events can be ordered now at www.cady.com/athletics. Check it out!
CLUBS:
Club members, please check with your club advisors about meetings. Here is what we know so far:
- FFEA will meet on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 in room 5-202B after school. Interested students should stop by and get the permission slip from Mrs. G to have it signed and returned for the meeting.
- Anime Club also meets Wednesday afternoon. See Miss Dugan in 8-214 for a permission slip.
- Academic Olympics will resume next week. Return your permission slip to Mr. Foust!
- Need help in math class? Studying for an upcoming test or the FSA retake? Math Lab is now open in the media center after school for students needing help in algebra 1, 2, and geometry. Math lab will be every Monday and Thursday after school at 2:30 until 3:30. Ask your math teacher for details and we will see you there.
SENIOR NEWS:
- Any senior who had a senior portrait appointment for this past Friday, you will need to reschedule your appointment. Check your email or call Cady Studios at (678)-722-3449. They will be back at NPHS on November 30. This is the LAST date currently scheduled here at NPHS, so book soon to get your spot.
- The Legend Yearbook is now accepting senior quote submissions. Seniors, you may be submitting your senior quote for a grade in your English 4 class, so check with your English teacher before submitting your quote! If you do not complete this as an assignment in class, you can log on to the Senior Class Blackboard and submit your quote there. Make sure to follow all posted guidelines or your quote will be rejected. All quotes are subject to approval by Administration, so choose wisely. The submission window closes at midnight on Halloween!
