3 November Announcements

     ASVAB is a test for potential military recruits and others interested in testing their skills. The ASVAB will be offered here at NPHS on Monday, November 7 at 8am in the PAC. If you’d still like to sign up, see Mr. Coulson in the SSC. 

 

     Homecoming tickets go on sale starting today during all lunches. Seniors are able to get tickets today, while Juniors on November 2nd, and all underclassmen’s on Friday. Again, tickets are $30 and it is 1 ticket per student. No outside guests are allowed to this event. Before purchasing you must need: 

  • signed Dance contract form by scanning the QR code
  • EXACT cash or check
  • School ID must be present, no other form of ID will be accepted
  • at least a 2.0 GPA
  • no more than 3 FULL day unexcused absences
  • and no unpaid fines or dues  

After purchasing your tickets, you will receive a sales receipt. Please check your emails for the ‘E-Tickets’ after all the tickets have been sold. You will need an image of the E-Ticket and school ID to enter the dance. (QR code) 

 

     Seniors, keep your eyes peeled during lunch for the Jostens table. They will be taking orders for your Cap & Gown and other graduation items. Remember, you must purchase a cap & gown package to participate in graduation in May. Don’t wait. Email Mrs. Sheilah Thomas if you have questions about senior items. 

 

     Approval for work hours to count towards the Bright Futures Scholarship is now ready! Students must first register for approval of their work or Community service site. Once students register and receive email approval, they may log back into their accounts and print their work or community service hour log sheets. 

  • Please remember that work hours cannot be combined with service hours, they must be submitted separately.  
  • If students need any help with registering or printing, they may stop by the Student Success Center.

     Need help in math class? Studying for an upcoming test or the FSA retake? Math Lab is now open in the media center after school for students needing help in algebra 1, 2, and geometry. Math lab will be every Monday and Thursday after school at 2:30 until 3:30. Ask your math teacher for details and we will see you there. 

 

SPORTS:

  • Use the QR code to vote for Cross Country’s Freshman Malia Hambrick for HT Preps Athlete of the Week. She came in second last time so we need your vote to push her to the top! Malia has set school records this season and will be traveling to Tallahassee on Friday to compete in the state championships.

CLUBS:

     Attention students: 

If you are interested in attending Unity Day (you know, having pizza, getting out of class, hanging out with new friends all day…) but did not get a permission form yet, please see Mr. Mannino in 8-204. If you want to attend but have not received a nomination form, please see Mr. Mannino in 8-204. Your behavior and grades will be checked but NPHS wants to make sure that anyone who is interested is given the opportunity to attend. We still have about 30 slots available, and this will be first-come, first-served. See Mr. Mannino in 8-204 for details. 

 

     Key Club is having a fund raiser at Chipotle on Saturday between 4-8 pm.  Please come out to support for you can order on line using the CODE  9TYT9C6


Key Club is collecting plastic bags for its Nature and Nurture Project which is taking plastic bags and turning them into yarn (known as PLARN) and using the plarn to make mats for the homeless community. Please drop off all your plastic bags to Room 5-105. 

 

     The Key Boutique is now open before and after school daily, for shopping (free) for dresses, suits, shirts, shoes and accessories for Home coming.  Room 5-105. We will also be open on Saturday 1-4pm.  Contact Mrs. Pomerleau or a Key Club member for information.
