Key Club Oct.25 Meeting

The key club held their bi-weekly meeting on Wednesday, October 25, in room 5-105 Mrs. Pomerleau’s room. At North Port High School, Key Club strives “…to provide its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership. Some of our projects include UNICEF, Relay for Life, canned food drives, fundraising Car washes, beach clean-ups and much more” (sarasotacountyschools.net). Key Club is an international organization established in 1925, having been around for almost 100 years.
Taking place from 2:15-3:00, meetings with instructor Mrs. Pomerleau take place. This Wednesday’s meeting, with around 20 members in attendance, talked about fundraising opportunities and events around the school. In room 5-105, from 3:30-4:00 a room filled with dresses, suits, and jewelry for homecoming are available. With recent events of hurricane Ian, the club offers an alternative for students at North Port High. Another event Key Club is taking place in is Chipotle fundraiser for their club. On Saturday, November 5th from 4:00pm – 8:00pm at the North Port location (17019 Tamiami), Chipotle will be fundraising for the club, using code 9TYT9C6 for online order and the showing of a flyer for in restaurant.
North Port High School’s Key Club is a global cause, with 1000s of clubs around the world. In more than 38 countries, Key Club aspires to teach students to lead for the greater good and offers volunteering and service opportunities. Acceptance for all grade levels, North Port’s Key Club is an advantageous club that educates characteristics beneficial to carry into adulthood.
