On December 8, 2022, a group of students from North Port travelled to STC in Sarasota to compete in an event called the “Career Skills Challenge”. There were 12 categories to compete at the event and North Port competed in all of them. They gave the students from 8:30 AM to 11:30 for all categories to finish their projects to be judged. The categories ranged in ‘VEX robotics’ to ‘Culinary’ to ‘Juried Digital Art’…it was an event that showed off everyone’s specialty. A couple minutes after everyone was done, everyone was given lunch before the places and overall winner was announced.

As people get quiet and seated after lunch, the results are in for placing and overall winner. As for North Port, the school won:

  • Juried Digital Art – Katelyn Lewis
  • Health Care Trivia
• 2nd place:
  • Shark Tank
  • VEX Robotics

• 1st place:
  • Culinary Clash
  • Technology Quiz Bowl
  • Problem Solving
  • Model Water Tower

And won the whole event with the most points earning $1,000 for CTE program. Congrats to everyone that has participated!
