The Student Success center is promoting a few FREE events. Please scan the QR codes in SchoolLinks to register to attend or stop by the Student Success Center to register. 

     Attention current Juniors and Sophomores – Applications are now being accepted for Suncoast Technical College.  Deadline is Friday, February 3rd.  Applications can be picked up in the Guidance office.  See Ms. McDougall in room 1-128 in guidance for further questions. 

     Marine Service Tuition Free Fast Track Training is another free event ONLY available for seniors. They can register from March 7th to May 18th from 5:30 to 9PM at STC Sarasota. Once completing the training, you will be eligible for certifications in EPA and OSHA 10…Opportunity to be hired by Chris Craft boats 

     STC Open House is open to all grade levels. It includes a campus tour, food trucks, raffle, and is on February 15th from 5 to 7pm at STC in Sarasota. 

     Juniors and Seniors. Interested in learning about opportunities in the Construction Industry? It includes but not limited to, plumbing, welding, electric, HVAC (AC), carpentry/framing, drywall, masonry, tiling, or using earth moving machines, Sign up today to attend the Construction Rodeo at STC North on March 2nd. Lunch will be provided. 

Deadline to register is Friday, February 2nd. 

     NPHS VPA Dance presents Carmina Burana Friday Jan 27th at 7pm in the PAC. Tickets are $5 for students, Staff complimentary AND Saturday Jan 28th at 7pm Repertory Dance Ensemble will host “An Invitation to Dance” featuring community collaboration with local dance schools and new student created works! 

Bobcats! Literacy Week is on January 23rd to the 27th  

• If you ever wanted to wear a powdered wig to school, Thursday will be the day! For its Historical Fiction Day. 
• And finally for the Theater kids it’s your time to shine come to school as characters from any Play or Musical on Friday! 

Please remember bobcats these outfits need to stay in dress code, meaning no bandanas, masks, face paint among other things. 

     The Color Blaze 5k will be here at NPHS on February 11, starting at 8am. Student Cost is $20 and registration is open until January 31st. Participants will get a Love of the Arts T-shirt, colorful sunglasses, and Race Medallion. Participants can walk or run to complete the Race. SPORTS NEWS 

• Use the QR code to vote for our very own Boys Basketball Head Coach, Bruce Wallace, for SB Lives Coach of the week. Then, come support the boys Friday night at their game against Lemon Bay. 5:30 start for JV, 7:00 for Varsity. 

• Any athletes interested in Joining the track and field team, our regular season practices begin Monday January 30th on the track at 2:30pm and our Varsity Try-Out will be February 10th at our Preseason Meet.  Anyone with any questions please see Coach Phu in 7-106 or Coach Duque in 1-104. 

CLUB NEWS 

• This February, celebrate your Valentine, Galentine, Broentine, or maybe just someone who deserves a cookie. Starting Tuesday January 30 during all lunches, you can buy Chick Fil A Cookie Grams for $3. Your cookie grams will be delivered on Valentine’s Day by our Student Government!
• Gaming club will not be meeting today (Thursday 1/26).

     Seniors! Don’t miss these important senior year deadlines:  

1. Grad Bash forms for student who purchased a silver bundle are due by FRIDAY, 1/27.  Turn in forms to Mrs. Thomas 4-113, or Ms. Sims/Mr. Thomas in guidance. No forms, no attendance, even if you paid for it.
2. Order your cap and gown ASAP – price increase is soon… 
3. Already have a cap and gown?  Order a tassel, medallion and diploma cover – forms in 4-113 (this cannot be done online)
4. Grad Bash forms/payment if you did not purchase a ticket through the bundle – deadline is January 27.  Buy your ticket before or after school in 4-113.
