7 February Announcements

     Attention!  You are invited to join the Class of 2024 at our Pizza for a Cause on February 7th at Bocca Lupo!  The Class of 2024 will receive a part of the proceeds from this event.  We’d love your support! 

 

     Mrs. Halbert and Mr. Coulson in the Student Success Center remind you to register for upcoming events on SchooLinks. Here’s what’s coming up: 

  • Tuesday Feb. 7- Hodges University and a discussion about the field of Psychology and counseling 
  • Wednesday Feb. 8- Keiser University is here during all lunches 
  •  Tuesday Feb. 14- UTI (Universal Technical Institute) in Orlando is here! their rep will be here during lunches 
  • Tuesday Feb. 15- SCF will be here to help with applications  
  • Friday Feb. 17th – SCF Performing Arts rep will be here to discuss all of their performing arts programs and auditions

 

There will be a Dual Enrollment (SCF) Information Session on Tuesday, February 7th during second period in the Tel Lab room 4102. Any student interested in attending SCF while in high school and has an unweighted 3.0 GPA, please sign up by asking your teacher for the QR code.  

SPORTS NEWS: 

Boys Basketball plays Riverview for the District Quarterfinal tonight at 7pm. Please come out and support the team! Congratulations to the following girls who qualified for the state finals in Weightlifting which will be in Lakeland on February 18th:

CLUB NEWS: 

     NPHS NJROTC Hosted our annual orienteering event Saturday 4 February, and it was a huge success. We had 10 different high schools and 183 runners who participated in the event  

Our 3 medals winners were:

  • Cadet Franco Gabriel. 
    • (2nd place Orange male course) 
  • Cadet Mayorov. Roxana  
    • (3rd place yellow female course) 
  • Cadet Carney Analiese  
    • (2nd place orange female course) 

       We also brought home 

  • 3rd place orange course trophy  
  • 3rd place green course trophy  
  • 2nd overall trophy  

I have to give a special thank you to Mrs Julie King, Mrs Merly Rennie, and our very own Coach “C”. All 3 of them ran the yellow course as beginners supporting our event and we believe they had a wonderful time challenging, encouraging and pushing our cadets 

 

     Mr. Mannino has several volunteer opportunities available for members of Coexistence Club, National Honor Society, and Environmental Club. Get those service hours in! Mr. Mannino may be found in room 8-204 or you can email him! Interested in a club? Mr. Mannino hosts Coexistence Club, and Mr. Ward hosts Environmental Club.
