Venice High School’s annual College Night, which will take place on Tuesday, February 28 from 5:30pm until 7:30pm. The evening is divided into two parts:
- There will be a short 30-40 minute presentation in the Venice HS gym (beginning at 5:30pm) from the University of Florida, Florida State University, University of Central Florida, University of South Florida, and Florida Southern College. They will share information regarding their most current admissions standards and how each school evaluates its applicants!
- From 6:00pm until 7:30pm, we will have almost 70 colleges and universities in the Venice HS cafeteria to answer questions and provide helpful information to our students and their families.
North Port High School’s College Fair will be held here on campus, Friday March 3 from 8-9:30 am. We will be calling down 11th graders by alpha split into 40 minute increments. (More details to follow). There will be approximately 70 Colleges and Universities in attendance in this incredible event.
SPORTS NEWS:
Congratulations to our 9 boys wrestling qualifiers for regionals: Llochlyn at 120 lbs, Austin District Champ at 126 lbs, Canon District runner-up at 132 lbs, Lucas at 152 lbs, Sam at 160 lbs, Vincent at 170 lbs, Dominic district champ at 182 lbs, Carmichael district champ at 195 lbs, and Nash, District Runner Up at heavyweight.
Congratulations to wrestler Solana McCaughen who was the regional runner-up at girls 125lbs, she will be competing at the state championship March 3-5.
In Girls Weightlifting, congratulations Aubrey Jarvis, crowned as the 3A state champ once again with a 425 pound total in Traditional and 270 in Olympic! And congratulations to Kaitlyn, Lily, Jahniya, and Caitlin for a strong showing at the state meet.
And Congratulations to the boys and girls track and field teams, taking first place in their home meet on Friday night. Girls won by over 20 points and boys won by over 30 points!

- We have extra tickets available for Grad Bash! $165 and all forms filled out to secure your spot. Don’t be left behind! Limited amount available sold on a first come first serve basis. See Mrs. Thomas in 4-113 to purchase your ticket today.

- Last day to order a cap and gown is Feb 24! www.jostens.com OR via the QR code in blackboard OR see Mrs. Thomas for an order form .$82 include a late fee. Cap and Gown unit INCLUDES a tassel, medallion, and diploma cover.
- Graduation Auditions if you want to speak/perform at graduation will be March 21 and 22 from 2:30-3:30 in the PAC. Applications to Audition are due by March 9. See the Senior Blackboard for more information.

VPA Seniors, apply to participate in the VPA Senior Showcase! Graphic
- Registration to perform in this event is only open to Seniors who are on track to graduate with VPA Endorsement.
- All solo performers and artist must be VPA Seniors
- Group performances and art displays should be choreographed created or rehearsed by VPA a Senior but may have a couple VPA Underclassmen performing/assisting if needed. (The focus is to showcase our graduation seniors)
- If students have questions about their VPA status qualifying, they should check with their Arts teacher to make sure.
- All applications will be confirmed by Arts staff.
- All Applications are due no later than March 10th NO EXTENTIONS!
