13 April Announcements

  SPORTS NEWS: 

Current and future Bobcat Football Players, there will be a mandatory meeting on Monday April 24 from 6-7pm in the PAC. Both the player and a parent or guardian is required to attend. Coach Belser and the coaching staff will cover summer training, athletic clearance paperwork, fundraising, team expectations, and more. See you then! 

Attention all athletes! The athletic department presents a Lift-A-Thon May 3-9 to raise money for our awesome weight room renovation project. If you use our weight room, participate in our Lift-A-Thon and help us get a well-needed upgrade! See Coach Rowe or Coach Egloff for registration information. There are some great prizes available, and Lift-A-Thon winners will have their records posted in the weight room, too! 

CLUB NEWS: 

The Key Boutique is now open daily from 2:15-3:30 in Mrs. Pomerleau’s room 5-105. The boutique offers free prom attire to interested students. Come and check it out to find your perfect dress, outfit, or accessories. The boutique will be open every day until April 28 except for April 13 and 14. 

 

ACADEMIC NEWS: 

“Don’t forget to visit the North Port Art Center to view NPHS’ annual art showcase! Friday, 4/14 is the last day it is on display.” 

Please send in pictures to be included in the slideshow at prom!

Prom Updates! Ticket sales for juniors and seniors continue until Friday April 14 during all lunches. 

The cost per ticket is $80 and a completed contract must be turned in with your money to obtain your ticket. Contracts for NPHS students and guests are available in the office. 

Seniors who purchased a senior bundle will have to turn in their completed contract to obtain their prom ticket. No contract, no ticket – paid or not. 

4/04 to 4/13 Attention all students! Our annual NPHS powderpuff game is on April 28 from 3-6 PM. We are looking for students to participate in the game and engage in side-line cheer. Practices are afterschool on April 13, 20, and 27th from 2:30-3:30. Make sure to sign up with the QR code on screen. Students who signed up will be tie-dyeing their jerseys on April 20th from 3:30-4:30. 

4/10 to 4/14 On Monday, April 17th Suncoast Blood Bank will be on campus from 8 am to 1 pm to conduct our final blood drive of the year. Sign-ups for the blood drive will be April 13th and 14th during all lunches in the cafeteria.  

Seniors: If you were planning on getting the scholarship with Suncoast Blood Bank this is your last chance to get your third donation done on campus.   

Here are some helpful tips before you donate: make sure to eat an hour before donating, drink lots of decaffeinated fluids, and bring a valid ID such as a learner’s permit or driver’s license. If you do not have either one of these forms of ID, the attendance office can provide you with a printout of your gradebook which can be used.   

Each donor will receive a free t-shirt, snacks, and a Chik-Fil-A sandwich. Suncoast blood bank also plants a tree for every blood donation. You will be able to track your tree and help the planet. 

 

SENIOR NEWS: 

Seniors! Multiple Events happening are coming in the near future: 

– Eligible students will get an email invitation for BOTH Academic Signing Day and Senior Awards Night! In order to be invited you must turn in your letters of acceptance and scholarship offers to Ms. Sims in Guidance. 

Academic Signing Day is on April 28th at 2:45 in the Cafeteria while Senior Awards Night is on May 4th at 7:00 in the PAC. Both events are by invitation only. 

 

-Senior BBQ is on May 10th from 5-7pm and MUST HAVE a student ID. This event is for the Class of 2023 ONLY and at the BBQ you will get your Cap and Gown. Before you get your Cap and Gown, YOU MUST HAVE paid all fees or fines and turned in equipment and uniforms. At Senior BBQ you may also pick up honor cords, tassels, yearbooks, and other senior items. You must plan to attend.
