Any rising Juniors and Seniors interested in Youth Leadership experience the Sarasota Chamber is looking for Youth leaders to apply. Students would need to attend all 8 meetings in Sarasota for the 2023-2024 school year. This would also count for Community Service. Please view this opportunity in SchooLinks or email Mrs. Halbert for the application.
Class Color T-Shirts are on sale in the cafeteria during all lunches today and tomorrow. Wear yours for Class Color day on Friday and for the Powderpuff game on Friday after school. There will be a student section where you can cheer on your class! Snacks and drinks will also be on sale for attendees. See you there!
This Friday is Class Color Day, our final spirit dress-up day for 2022-2023. As you dress up in your class color, please remember that no paint, masks, or bandanas are permitted, and dress code is always followed. Freshmen, yellow. Sophomores, green. Juniors, orange. Seniors, red.
Then on Friday after school, come out to the Powder Puff football game from 3pm-6pm. The concession stand will be open for a snack or drink, and you can cheer on your team! See you there!
SPORTS NEWS:
Do your part to help renovate our weight room – and clean out your closet, too! The athletic department is collecting old sneakers, rubber cleats, and other closed-toed shoes to raise funds for our weight room project. Now through May 10. Bring in YOUR old but usable shoes to your first period teacher and get entered for prizes! There will be a donut party for the class with the most participation, plus a $50 gift card, $100 gift card, and a pair of Air Jordans will be given away to participants.
Teachers, send your list of donations to Coach Sorbino.
CLUB NEWS:
The Key Boutique is now open daily from 2:15-3:30 in Mrs. Pomerleau’s room 5-105. The boutique offers free prom attire to interested students. Come and check it out to find your perfect dress, outfit, or accessories. The boutique will be open every day until April 28 except for April 13 and 14.
SGA is accepting applications for next school year. Applications are due on April 28. Information is in your class Blackboard page. Be sure to meet all requirements.
Speech and Debate will be meeting Wednesday, 5/3 after school in 8-114. We will talk about the events next year and what you may be interested in to compete. All are welcome, no experience is necessary!
On Friday, May 5, come to 7-101 and compete for a $50 cash prize in the Smash Bros. Tournament! The entry fee is $5 and food and drink will be available, too, including Hector Mar’s famous tacos! The tournament starts right after school. Help us out by pre-registering using the QR code, but walk-ins are welcome, too. Proceeds support TSA’s travels to National Competition.
SENIOR NEWS:
Seniors planning to attend a 2 year college, technical college, or are joining the military, we want to celebrate you! Please come to the Student Success Center during all lunches on Friday April 28 to take pictures with our photo booth and have some light refreshments!#DecisionDay2023
