Hey Bobcats! CAN YOU HEAR IT? There are voices! Come experience it! The NPHS Department of Choral and Vocal Studies presents….

  • Mainstage show will begin at 7pm on May 11th in the NPHS PAC.
  • Tickets are $8 for adults, and $5 for students.
  • You’ve heard about it!

NOW experience it.. Voices in the Night 2023!

This year’s Navy vs Silver game is going to be epic!  The Navy team will be coached by Sarasota County School Police Department and the North Port Police Department!  The Silver team will be coached by the North Port Fire Department.  This match-up will prove to be exciting for the staff, students and our community.  Our goal is to pack our stadium and give our Bobcat Football Players a sneak peak at the support they have both at school and in our community.

Coach Miller has waved the gate fee… which means that ADMISSION IS FREE.  Instead, he is asking that we bring in previously worn closed toed shoes to help raise money for our new Weight Room.

In addition, the concession stand will be open. Enjoy a ¼ pound All Beef Hotdog, Loaded Nachos or Fries, Pulled Pork and much more.  Concessions are ALL NEW and we are committed to having the “best” pub food available in Sarasota County!!!  All menu items will be sold @ this game for $3. Sections will be decorated.  Support your chosen team or players. See you there!

Do your part to help renovate our weight room – and clean out your closet, too! The athletic department is collecting old sneakers, rubber cleats, and other closed-toed shoes to raise funds for our weight room project. Now through May 10. Bring in YOUR old but usable shoes to your first period teacher and get entered for prizes! There will be a donut party for the class with the most participation, plus a $50 gift card, $100 gift card, and a pair of Air Jordans will be given away to participants. Teachers, send your list of donations to Coach Sorbino.

Anyone interested in joining the Swim Team for the 2023 Fall Season needs to see Mr. Magliacane in Room 8-101.

Speech and Debate will be meeting Wednesday, 5/3 after school in 8-114. We will talk about the events next year and what you may be interested in to compete. All are welcome, no experience is necessary!

On Friday, May 5, come to 7-101 and compete for a $50 cash prize in the Smash Bros. Tournament! The entry fee is $5 and food and drink will be available, too, including Hector Mar’s famous tacos! The tournament starts right after school. Help us out by pre-registering using the QR code, but walk-ins are welcome, too. Proceeds support TSA’s travels to National Competition.

Hi Seniors, it’s Ms. Lord, your yearbook and Bobcat News advisor and I’m here to update you about senior events!

All seniors are required to complete the senior survey and the graduation reader card. See your English teacher if you missed these activities in class. The survey and reader card must be returned by Monday, May 8. If you do not plan to participate in graduation, please let an administrator know ASAP.

On Wednesday, May 10, from 5-7pm, come to Senior BBQ in the Cafeteria Area. You are required to attend to pay any outstanding fines and fees to be allowed to walk in graduation. Once your account is in good standing, you can pick up your Cap & Gown for graduation. Also at Senior BBQ, pick up honor cords and tassels, your pre-ordered yearbook, and panoramic photo. There will be food and music. This event is for seniors only. If you did not preorder a yearbook, bring $90 cash or a check made out to NPHS.

Senior exams start on Monday, May 15. Especially if you leave campus for STC, OJT, or Dual Enrollment, be aware of the exam schedule. You are responsible to be in attendance at your exams. Missed exams could compromise your ability to walk in Graduation.

On Friday, May 19, Graduation practice starts at 8am in the PAC. Graduation practice is mandatory for all students planning to participate in graduation. Graduation tickets (8 tickets per graduating senior) will be distributed at the end of practice. Seniors participating in the Elementary graduation walk will leave for the walk immediately after practice, so be sure to bring your cap & gown along to practice.

On Saturday, May 20, graduating seniors need to report to the gym by 7:30am. You may NOT wear heels for graduation except for wedge-type heels. If you show up to graduation in stiletto-type heels, you will not walk. Flats are recommended for graduation. Leave ALL unneeded items in your car as there is nowhere to store items. Seniors report at 7:30am. The ceremony begins at 9:00am.
